Services
Cherry Lane Pianos offers several technical services for your piano:
Fine tuning, pitch correction, repairs, regulations, voicing, cleaning and evaluations
Fine Tuning
$120 | 2 hrs
This rate is for a single tuning pass to bring your piano to concert pitch-A440. Oftentimes, with seasonal changes the pitch will drift a little ways off and will need find tuning adjustments. If your piano is very old or has not been tuned in several years it will likely need my next service option: Pitch Correction.
Pitch Correction
$180 | 3 hrs
This service is going to be a little more than a fine tuning. If you regularly play your piano along with other instruments, sing while you play, a pitch correction is highly recommended. This service is two tuning passes in one appointment.
Repairs
$45 service call fee + cost for replacement parts
Repairs will often be addressed during a tuning appointment. However, if a repair must be a separate appointment, a service call fee will be charged. Large repairs may take a longer period of time and $10 will be added per hour spent on repair.
Cleaning
$100
Your piano will get a full cleaning which will include: dusting and polishing of case parts, cleaning keytops, vacuuming inside action cabinet and under keys.
Evaluations
$60
An evaluation is not an appraisal where the value of your instrument is determined. An evaluation is a summary of the condition your instrument is in and if there are any issues that need to be addressed.
Regulations
$160-300
This service comes in a partial or full package. In the partial regulation, your piano will be inspected for big picture issues and the biggest complaints will be addressed to help your piano play better. The full regulation, your piano will be completely inspected and every function of the action brought to proper functionality. The rates for both of these packages may change if there are repairs to be made.
Voicing
$200
The tone of your piano may be modified to fit the environment. If you believe your piano sounds too bright or too dull, voicing is a treatment applied to the hammers which can help shape the tone to the room.
Keytop Replacement
$300-$500
Full key top replacement might be a consideration if the key tops on your piano are chipping easily or even falling off. This service takes a large amount of time and effort to complete and can depend on the quality of the old key tops and number of key tops needing to be replaced.
